Multiple people can simultaneously observe a piece of abstract art and each perceive a different aspect of the whole, creating multiple accurate interpretations of the same experience. Everything we perceive is filtered through our own uniqueness, creating multiple shades of the same reality. Only by blending these shades can we experience the full extent of the truth in that reality. Understanding this concept is a key component of successful interpersonal harmony.
The acts of viewing and discussing abstract art allow us to familiarlize ourselves with this perception mechanism and practice it. This process illustrates the subjectivity of human perception, thus reinforcing the blending mechanism in our subconscious minds and tuning us in to the connections among us all.
